What is Apologetics?
Apologetics is derived from the Greek word apologia, which means "to defend" or "to make a defense." As Christians, we must be ready "to present solid, rational arguments that prove the things you have affirmed. You must defend the propositions you have presented. You are appointed for the defense of the Gospel (Philippians 1:17)." 1 Peter 3:15 says: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have."
To prepare our students with a Biblical Worldview, Apologetics Press has many materials that would be appropriate for your homeschool student including a Free online course and a few Free ebooks.
The FREE online introductory course on Christian Evidences, appropriate for high school, is a ten lesson course covering the topics of the existence of God, Creation versus Evolution, the inspiration of the Bible and more. Each lesson in the study is in full-color, PDF format and includes questions intended to help reinforce the teaching material in the mind of the student. An answer sheet is provided so that answers can be checked at home.
A limited number of AP's FREE ebooks are also available as PDF downloads. Most of these books are short in length, but a couple worth checking out: "Creation Compromises", "The Truth About Human Origins" and "The Global Flood of Noah" (part of their Scripture and Science Series).
Apologetics Press provides scripturally sound and scientifically accurate materials in the field of Christian Apologetics. Visit their website store to see the materials, media, and other resources that are available for adults and students. While not required, you may want to consider supporting AP with a one-time gift if you use any of their publications or studies.
